Aladdin, based on the Disney movie based on the tale from Arabian Nights of the same name, is an interesting, rare occurrence. As an adaptation of an adaptation of a fairy tale, naturally Aladdin should suffer from that same sickness affecting all movie games, but even worse, right? WRONG!
Aladdin is a great platformer that, while remaining mostly faithful to the movie's interpretation, isn't afraid to deviate from the story slightly to enhance gameplay. You don't need to be a Disney fan to appreciate the clever, slightly Mario-esque platforming parts that feature cool flippy acrobatic stunts. Nor do you need to have loved the movie to appreciate the game's colorful, bright visual style. This game can also be quite challenging, I've never personally got past the Cave of Wonders level. This difficulty curve, which feels more like a difficulty zigzag, is probably one of the games weaker points, which will surely frustrate the games target audience; kids. All in all, this is a great game, definitely worth a try.
